  • 2 lb Ground Beef (90/10 or 93/7)
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 3 3 garlic cloves minced
Spices
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp dried oregano
  • 1.5 Tbsp salt or to taste
  • 0.5 Tbsp black pepper
Canned Goods
  • 15 oz black beans can, drained and rinsed
  • 30 oz kidney beans two 15oz cans, drained and rinsed
  • 30 oz diced tomatoes with their juice
  • 10 oz diced tomatoes and green chilis with their juice
  • 30 oz tomato sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Sauté ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula until fat is released.
  2. Add diced onion to the skillet and cook until tender (4-5 minutes). Stir in minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper, cooking for 30 seconds. Transfer the mixture to a 6 Qt slow cooker.
Slow Cooker
  1. Add rinsed and drained black and kidney beans, diced tomatoes, diced tomatoes and green chilis, and tomato sauce to the slow cooker. Stir to combine and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours. Season to taste and serve warm.
